Trees from 20 to 200 million years ago that have naturally preserved themselves through a process called mineralization. This means that instead of decomposing they have turned to solid petrified/fossilized wood stone. A truly incredible process of the earth that gives us a glimpse and treasure of the past. The flashes of red and purples are said to be from the family of rose wood.
